Emily Hampshire recently wrapped up filming the sixth and final season of the hit series Schitt’s Creek, and now she’s signed on to star in the upcoming feature film Home.
Home follows the story of Meredith (Hampshire), who separates from her husband after the death of their newborn child Alex. As she continues to live in her house, Meredith becomes more and more convinced that Alex is still alive. What she is unaware of however is that the death of her baby caused the birth of something else, something sinister.
Hampshire is known for playing Stevie Budd on Schitt’s Creek, as well as Jennifer Goines in the Syfy series 12 Monkeys. She has also been in several films, including The Death and Life of John F. Donovan that premiered at TIFF last year. She was the Real Style cover girl for their Fall 2016 issue.
Producer Philip Kalin-Hajdu said in a released statement that “this part was meant for Emily and what she’s creating has gone beyond any of our expectations – she’s incredible.” Director Adam O’Brien also added that “Emily has shown extraordinary acting range with roles from Jennifer Goines to Stevie. With Home, she is going to surprise everyone.”
The film is scheduled to begin production on August 13 in Montreal, and the remaining cast will be announced shortly.
