Country music stars Dan + Shay have dropped several singles this year, including Tequila, Speechless and All to Myself, but for their latest single they’ve teamed up with Canada’s Justin Bieber. The single 10,000 Hours is the first song off their upcoming, self-titled album.
Dan + Shay’s Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney wrote the track along with Bieber, Jordan Reynolds, Jessie Jo Dillon and Jason “Poo Bear” Boyd, and as you can hear it’s an upbeat, acoustic track. Smyers and Mooney have been hyping the track through social media, and Bieber even took to Twitter to call the song “wedding music”.
Even though the genre is different than what Bieber usually sings, it’s not a total surprise that he would team up with Smyers and Mooney. The three of them have been friends for several years, with the duo even attending Bieber’s second wedding celebration with Hailey Baldwin last weekend. Bieber has also been known to team up with other musicians to release songs as well, including the recent song I Don’t Care with Ed Sheeran.
Dan + Shay won Single of the Year and Duo of the Year earlier this year at the ACM Awards, with Smyers even winning a writing trophy as well. They recently finished a lengthy tour with Florida Georgia Line, and have a new album coming out soon.
